
Yereum Kang
ABOUT
Yereum Kang is originally from South Korea and a New York based composer for film and multimedia. She is also a singer-song writer and her main instrument is a piano. She has a musical background of jazz, classic, and also extended interests in electronic music. She has a strong sense of telling a story with an unique melody. Last year, her name appears in a soundtrack of a Korean film, ‘Shoot my heart’ as a lyricist of two title songs, ‘Shoot my heart’ and ‘Annapurna.’
She is looking forward to working on various projects in the future.
She attended City College of New York for Music BA and studied composition with Jonathan Pieslak, Daniel Felsenfeld and Pulitzer Prize awarded David Del Tredici. She graduated from film scoring master program at NYU on May, 2015. She has studied with Mark Suozzo and Michael Patterson, also a Grammy Award nominated jazz trombonist, Alan Ferber for jazz arranging and composition. She also studied jazz piano with a Korean jazz pianist Young Joo Song.
Other than music, her first major was in nursing and she has been working as a nurse over fifteen years. Also she loves photography and dance.
